Q&A
(Photographer, Videographer, Content Creator)
Yet, another page about me, but as much as photographs can tell about someone, there are parts of you that can't be seen, but only heard and read. So let me answer to the most asked questions.
-
How did you get into Photography ?
So to put it in a nutshell, I discovered this passion 7 years ago while studying cinema. I still can't fathom how I fell into this peculiar world, I guess I was just drawn into its gravity.
-
Who clicks the photos of yourself ?
I guess it's clear now, that I am the sole and unique photographer of all the work you can see in here, on my website. The secret is to first turn on the timer then, you select the option to take 10 photos in a row, and there you have it.
Though, I have to admit I have done some modeling on certain occasion. You can find these collaborations on my instagram : @lilykalypso. But, beside that, when it comes to my work and self-portraits, I am the only one working on them from being the creative mind, through the process of taking the photos and posing to editing my final work.
-
How do you manage to take all these self-portraits ?
Well, I found a muse within myself in times of loneliness. I have been quite used to being behind and in front of the camera, considering that I started with this genre. So you will find most of my portraits representing myself, at least for now.
-
As an Indian woman, do you get criticized for the themes of your work ?
Oh yes, I do! Very often, I get called names and I even came to a point in my life where I stopped photography for 2 years after my family decided to get involved. The funny part is people thinking I do it for fame.
I got back to photography during the quarantine, it was the first time I took my dslr out to take self-portraits again after 2 years. And guess what theme I started with? LINGERIE! I had to replace a bunch of photos I deleted because of a really bad experience during my modeling experience. I will get deeper into that one day, when I will be ready. But basically, I am kinda immunized from all this negativity. It won't affect my passion for lingerie nor the sensuality of my work.

What is your goal for your future ?
Well, I'd like to work in the fashion field, that's for sure, and be a photographer for magazines and brands, but I can't be more specific than that. I tend to go with the flow and get surprised by what life has to offer and make the most of it. Life is to be lived not to be expected, or should I say "Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans".
